4 massive trade chips Yankees need to sell in a fire sale

The Yankees do have an All-Star closer in left-handed pitcher Aroldis Chapman
Though he may be much maligned in recent appearances, left-handed fireballer Aroldis Chapman has become a seven-time All-Star this season, making his third trip to the Mid-Summer Classic in a Yankees uniform. While he has a troubling 4.55 ERA and a less than stellar 1.483 WHIP, Chapman offers the Yankees great trade value, despite having statistically his worst MLB season.
The Cuban defector is signed through next year. He is hitting free agency once again in 2023 ahead of his age-35 season. We have seen Chapman carve up all sorts of hitters from his time in New York, his brief World Series run with the 2016 Chicago Cubs and with the Cincinnati Reds in his 20s. Like many guys on this roster, Chapman may need a change of scenery to get back to good.
So with past performance and another year’s worth of control, Chapman is the ideal trade piece for a team in dire need of a splash at the deadline to revamp its bullpen. He may not have it this year for the Yankees, but putting on a new uniform could do him a world of good. The best part for the Yankees is that his trade value is still high, even if he is pitching the worst of his MLB career.
If the Yankees do put Chapman on the trading block, other teams will be have great interest in him.
