1. Patrick Mahomes could’ve gone D-1 for basketball

Patrick Mahomes can throw a football, swing a bat, launch a golf ball over three hundred yards, and he can also get a bucket if he needs to. As a student at WhiteHouse High School, he excelled as a basketball player his senior year, averaging 19.3 points and 8.3 rebounds. He dropped a career-high 47 points that season also, and he could’ve to a D-1 school, according to his former athletic director.

“If he focused on it, there’s no doubt he could be a Division I basketball player,” WhiteHouse athletic director Richard Peacock told MaxPreps in 2013.

He ended up being the  2013-14 MaxPreps Athlete of the Year because of his excellence in basketball, football and baseball. Mahomes seems to do everything exceptionally well, and he could’ve had a different life if he pursued these three sports other than football.

One Super Bowl Ring, an NFL MVP, and a half-billion dollar contract later, it’s safe to say that his life in football has turned out pretty well.
