DraftKings British Open picks: $8,000 range

Patrick Cantlay ($8,900) – To me, Cantlay is like a budget version of Schauffele. He does everything well and can contend on any type of golf course. I’m not over the moon about him but it’s impossible to deny the value.

Patrick Reed ($8,800) – Whether you like him or not, few players in the world are better around and on the greens than Reed and he’s the prototype for a golfer who can grind out scores on tough courses. He has to be in consideration in the $8,000 range.

Paul Casey ($8,600) – After reeling off two top-10s in the last two majors, Casey should be a popular play and for good reason. The Englishman is playing some of the best golf of his career and should be unflappable against the challenges ahead.

Will Zalatoris ($8,500) – We have to mention Zalatoris because of his overall body of work this year but his form has taken a dip as of late with only one finish inside the top 50 in his last four starts. That’s enough to scare me away in a loaded range.

Scottie Scheffler ($8,200) – Another player who went top 10 in the last two major championships, Scheffler is an outstanding feel player who could be suited for links golf. He was T12 at the Scottish Open last week and could continue that to a strong finish at The Open.

Adam Scott ($8,100) – Scott still hasn’t played a ton this year but has shown some form with a T16 at the Memorial and T13 at the Travelers with a T35 at the U.S. Open sandwiched between. His cool demeanor could help him a lot at Royal St. George’s.

Tommy Fleetwood ($8,000) – I prefer Fleetwood to Justin Rose at $8,000 flat and the British product played well at the Irish Open (T17) and Scottish Open (T26) over the past two weeks. He has popped in majors before and could be a nice value at this spot.
