This is going to be a very young receiving core for the Tigers in 2021, and for them to take a big step up in the SEC, they will need some skill players that can step up.

Kayshon Boutte is one of the players that can do it for the Tigers this season.

Boutte was a five-star receiver out of the class of 2020 and was the No. 1 player coming out of Louisiana and the No. 2 wide receiver in the country. The Tigers knew that he had talent, but it took a while for it to really shine.

For most of last year, the Tigers were missing that big-play threat at wide receiver that they had in 2019 in both Ja’Mar Chase and Justin Jefferson.

But Boutte showed that he has the capability to be that type of player for the Tigers at the end of the season.

The freshman totaled over 100 yards receiving in each of the team’s final three games including an incredible 14-catch, 308-yard and three-touchdown outburst in their last game against Mississippi.

Orgeron and the Tigers will be looking to see that type of production from Boutte on a more consistent basis this year and if he can do that, the Tigers will have a very good chance to compete for an SEC title.
