The New York Yankees blew another late-inning lead to the Boston Red Sox and fans all over Twitter are savaging the team.

How much more of this suffering can New York Yankees fans take? While the team has won the most World Series of any team out there, things have been rough of late and the 2021 season has simply been a nightmare. Folks are calling for Aaron Boone to get fired.

Those calls are only going to get louder following Sunday’s loss to the Red Sox. New York was in control, taking a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning. Many Boston fans had probably already left Fenway Park to beat the traffic. If people did, they missed the Red Sox scoring five runs to steal the victory away from New York. Unreal.

Yankees fans are having a meltdown after Sunday’s loss to the Red Sox

Domingo German was throwing a near-perfect game, as he had tossed a no-hitter through seven innings. He then gave up an RBI-double to Hunter Renfroe in the eighth. Soon after, Jonathan Loaisiga came in and absolutely choked. He gave up four earned runs, just infuriating New York supporters all over the country. People are losing their minds on Twitter too.

It’s one thing for the Yankees to blow a lead like this, but when it happens against the Red Sox, it only makes things so much worse. This is one of the most heated rivalries in all of sports. You just know how happy the club is delivering this kind of pain to their AFC East foes.

With the Yankees at 51-47 on the year, they’ll need a miracle to win the division. Scratch that, this club isn’t even looking like a playoff team.
