3. Denver Broncos

This should be No. 1 but, A) That’s not very fun and B) It’s no drop in the bucket that Rodgers will for sure go to Denver.

Let’s be clear: There are more pros than cons for Rodgers in Denver. There’s also probably more pros to signing with the Broncos than there are any other team in the league. Once Rodgers hits free agency, though, all bets are off.

Remember when Tom Brady hitting free agency meant he was signing with his hometown team in San Francisco? Or how the Titans and Raiders made too much sense to not happen? Brady won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers, who everyone remembered was an NFL franchise.

Odds are the Broncos are the team, even if there’s intense interest everywhere else. Denver will have a Super Bowl-caliber defense, room to add stars, and a front office that has shown a willingness to mortgage its future to win a Super Bowl now.

When Rodgers hits free agency the comparisons to Brady will be impossible to not make. Denver presents almost an identical situation to what Brady walked into with the Buccaneers in 2020, with the defense ready to win and Rodgers making Denver an even more friendly free agent destination than it already is. When the Broncos signed Peyton Manning, they went to work adding the right pieces around him to ensure a title-winning team.

Tampa Bay set the blueprint for how to expedite the process, albeit they had more pieces in place than the Broncos do. But if Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback, and winning a Super Bowl or two over the next few seasons is the goal, the Broncos will be tops on the list of veterans looking to get a ring.
