1. Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers finished this past regular season with the top seed in the Eastern Conference. Many had pegged them as the favorites to represent the East in the NBA Finals. But then they suffered an embarrassing elimination by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the playoffs. Perhaps the biggest storyline out of that series was Ben Simmons’ unwillingness to take shots in crunch time and his failures at the free-throw line.

This offseason, the 76ers are trying to trade Simmons, but their exorbitant asking price is causing teams to hang up the phone on president of basketball operations Daryl Morey and potentially block his phone number altogether. Regardless of what happens with Simmons, the 76ers are in the running for Lowry.

They were linked to Lowry dating back to the trade deadline, but nothing came of it. Now, the Sixers have their chance to get him in either free agency or via a sign-and-trade. According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Lowry is looking to earn $90 million over three seasons. Additionally, Pompey offers this info from a source on the guard’s willingness of accepting a sign-and-trade:

"“If there’s a sign-and-trade [with the Sixers] that can be done that can get him there, and he gets $25 to $30 million, he will consider it.”"

Lowry to the 76ers makes too much sense. The team is in need of a point guard and Lowry was born and raised in Philadelphia.
