1. Moses Moody

It’ll take years to know for sure, but the smart money is on Moses Moody to be the biggest steal of the 2021 NBA Draft. While Suggs has more upside than any player on this list, he only “fell” to No. 5; Moody dropping to No. 14 and being scooped up by a team renowned for its player development is almost unfair, and it makes him an obvious candidate as a draft steal.

Aside from this being incredible value at the end of the lottery, Moody is an 18-year-old 3-and-D wing who is already impressive in both categories. He’s more prepared to contribute to a title contender right now than Jonathan Kuminga, the Golden State Warriors‘ other lottery pick at No. 7 … which might not be saying much at this point. But Moody’s defense can still help now, and he’s far from a finished product given how young he is. The Dubs needed 3-and-D wing alongside Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, and Moody still possesses plenty of upside.

At Arkansas, the 6-foot-6 forward with a 7-foot-1 wingspan averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game while canning 35.8 percent of his 5.1 long-range attempts per game. The scoring may not translate to the pros, but if his shooting and defense does, Golden State will be in a great spot with this high-value selection.
