Steph Curry plans to sign a multi-year extension with the Golden State Warriors this summer.

While there is a chance he could have left the Bay Area at some point in his illustrious career, Steph Curry is poised to sign a massive four-year deal to remain the Golden State Warriors point guard.

NBA insider Marc Stein reports Curry and the Warriors are on the precipice of agreeing to a four-year extension worth $215 million. Curry has spent his entire professional career in Golden State after being drafted No. 7 overall out of Davidson back in 2009. The two-time NBA MVP will be entering his age-33 season with Golden State this fall. He had one year left on his current deal.

Don’t count on Curry playing for any other NBA franchise until his very late 30s at this time.

Golden State Warriors will give Steph Curry a massive extension here soon

With all of Golden State’s core in its early 30s, the Warriors are undeniably in win-now mode. Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have never played for anyone else, but they are going to need someone else to bolster their roster if they want to contend for league championships again. Curry was incredible a year ago, but he could not carry Golden State into the NBA playoffs.

We all knew a potential Curry extension was not going to come cheap for Golden State. He may have had more than his fair share of injuries in his past, but Golden State expects Curry’s game will age gracefully into the latter part of his 30s. Even if it is a salary cap league, Golden State can rest assure knowing that if the Warriors contend for another title that Curry will be a vibrant part of it.

Staying in the Steph Curry business is an expensive, but worthwhile investment for Golden State.
