Carmelo Anthony has just signed a one-year deal to play for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2021-22.

With future basketball Hall-of-Famer Carmelo Anthony inking a one-year deal to play for the Los Angeles Lakers, you better believe NBA Twitter reacted accordingly.

While he only needed one college season to be a champion, Anthony is still ringless entering his age-37 season out of Syracuse. Anthony was able to reinvent himself the last two seasons as a scoring threat out on the wing for the Portland Trail Blazers. By finally uniting with his draft classmate LeBron James, it is title or bust for Anthony now that he is joining the Lakers in 2021.

Here is how NBA Twitter reacted to Anthony putting pen to paper to become a Laker this summer.

NBA Twitter honestly cannot believe James and Anthony will finally be teammates.

The other big takeaway from Anthony joining the Lakers is how old this team will be. Nearly all of their notable players sans Anthony Davis are firmly in their 30s.

Even if most of the Lakers are on the wrong side of 30, expect Los Angeles to be the favorites to get to the NBA Finals out of the West, if not win it outright.

Ultimately, people seem to be pretty happy about Anthony joining the Lakers. While Nick Young wants to be along for the ride to championship glory as well, it would be really cool to see Anthony finally hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

His NBA career has been defined by his inability to win big in the postseason, but he is an all-time great and should be commended for his scoring prowess.

We simply cannot believe that Anthony and James are going to be teammates in Laker Land now.
