Odds of every NFL team winning Super Bowl 56: Carolina Panthers +5000

If you believe that the new quarterback of the Carolina Panthers in Sam Darnold will give this squad a premium level upgrade over Teddy Bridgewater, then you’ve got another thing coming.

Darnold had a ton of potential and hype as he was taken with the third overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. However, his time there was filled with injuries woes and ineffective play. Even last season, Darnold missed four games and won only two when he was under center.

He isn’t an awful quarterback but he isn’t what many were expecting either. For as much flack as Bridgewater has received throughout his career, he’s always been solid. Even with questionable weapons, he still managed to throw for 3,733 yards and 15 touchdowns this past year. And while the return of Christian McCaffrey will add a much-needed boost to their overall offense, in no way, shape or form should Darnold be considered a better quarterback than Bridgewater.

Will the addition of their all-world running back add a few more wins to the five they ended the season with last year? Most likely. But will it be enough for them to make any real noise? Absolutely not.
