Odds of every NFL team winning Super Bowl 56: Los Angeles Chargers +3000

No one was expecting it, probably not even Justin Herbert himself. The Los Angeles Chargers may have drafted him with the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but they were anticipating bringing him along slowly. Tyrod Taylor was still fully entrenched as the team’s starter and the franchise was hoping that Herbert could learn from sitting behind a pro’s pro.

Everything went out the window in the second game of the season. Taylor got himself nicked up and was forced to miss a ton of games. Stepping in to replace him was Herbert. His performances turned a bunch of heads in the league. He turned the NFL into his personal playpen and went out every Sunday and destroyed the competition.

Ultimately, that didn’t result in many wins. The Chargers finished with seven victories under their belt but they looked terrific at times and Herbert looked the part. While he’s important, he isn’t the only weapon they have. Keenan Allen was a Pro Bowler and is considered one of the best wide receivers in the game. Also, Joey Bosa is a monster on the defensive front. Numerous concussions may have forced him to miss some time, but expect him to get back to his dominant self.

We can’t go as far as to call the Chargers Super Bowl contenders but for now, they should be considered a lock for the playoffs.
