Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 4. OLB. Seattle Seahawks. Bruce Irvin. player. 36

Bruce Irvin has had his best success playing for Pete Carroll or his disciples

If Seattle expects to play with many leads this season, they will need to continually get after the opposing quarterback. While he is nothing more than a rotational pass rusher at best at this point of his career, maybe the Seahawks bring back outside linebacker Bruce Irvin on a new contract? Of the players appearing on this list, he projects to be the least impactful of the available five.

Irvin was the first-round pick made by Seattle in the same 2012 NFL Draft that yield the Seahawks Wilson in the third round out of Wisconsin by way of North Carolina State. Though the former West Virginia standout has never had a 10-sack season, he has taken the opposing quarterback to the turf 52 times over the last nine seasons playing for four different teams.

Though he did return to the Seahawks last season, he only played in two games for Seattle and did not record a sack. He had previously played for the then-Oakland Raiders, the Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers before returning to the Pacific Northwest. Irvin will be turning 34-years-old this season. If he takes a hometown discount, he may be back in Seattle one last time.

Irvin has had his best success playing for Pete Carroll or any of his defensive disciples in the NFL.
