Scouting Report. QB. Green Bay Packers. Blake Bortles. 49. Pick Analysis. 1. player

Blake Bortles can hand the ball off and could spot-start for an injured Big Ben

And we have arrived at the one quarterback we cannot believe is still a free agent. Though he is never going to be a starting-level player again, there is value to adding a signal-caller with ample NFL experience like Blake Bortles. He did beat the Steelers at home in the AFC Divisional round in 2017 to get the Jacksonville Jaguars to their third AFC Championship game in franchise history.

Bortles has bounced around since the Jaguars kicked him to the curb after the 2018 season. He has been with the Los Angeles Rams, the Denver Broncos and most recently,  the Green Bay Packers. Even if Nathaniel Hackett could not make it work for him in Titletown, Bortles can at the very least hand the ball off to Najee Harris and game manage for a team led by a strong defense.

From a skillset standpoint, Bortles’ peak prototype coming out of UCF in 2014 was Roethlisberger. He has a strong arm and can move around in the pocket. The problems with him were mechanical and decision-making. Again, the Steelers are not going to win a ton of games if Bortles has to start more than a few for them this year. However, we have seen what he can do when on a good team.

What other quarterbacks can the Steelers look at if they want to move off Rudolph this summer?
