It is time for the Atlanta area native Drew Waters to make his big-league debut

With the 2021 MLB trade deadline firmly in the rearview mirror, it is important to know that the Braves did not have to part ways with any of their top prospects. One guy who had supposedly been dangled in a few offers was their No. 2 overall prospect in outfielder Drew Waters. Since he was not dealt at the deadline for a current All-Star, Braves Country needs to see him play soon.

Waters was drafted out of high school by the Braves. The former Etowah standout is also in his early 20s like Pache. However, he has never played a game for his hometown team just yet. Atlanta historically has had tremendous early success when a hometown kid plays for his boyhood favorite team. This is all about getting the big-league jitters out of his system for the 2022 season.

Unlike Pache, Waters will not face an absurd amount of pressure upon his Atlanta arrival. Yes, he is the No. 2 prospect in the organization, but he has yet to disappoint Braves Country on the biggest of stages. Even with the Braves having completely rebuilt their outfield at the trade deadline, we have to wonder which prospect earns a job for next season. Will it be Pache or will it be Waters?

What other top prospects should the Braves call up in the early part of September this season?
