This Trevor Story bat flip is a thing of pure beauty (Video)
Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story hit a home run against the San Diego Padres with the most devastatingly beautiful bat flip as a cherry on top.
If you ever had the fortune to hit a major league home run, what would your bat flip look like?
Rockies shortstop Trevor Story provided a gorgeous blueprint for all future bat flips on Wednesday with his cooler-than-the-cool-side-of-the-pillow flip against the Padres.
At the plate in the fifth inning, Story launched a two-run home run 433 feet to left. His celebration was the best bit of it.
Here’s another view of the flip from the broadcast:

That bat flip should go down as one of the best of the season.
Trevor Story’s bat flip was a thing of beauty
Hopefully, the Padres don’t take offense to such a work of art. If they have a good reason to be angry, it should have more to do with their performance against the Rockies.
Jake Arrieta had a miserable debut for San Diego, going 3.1 innings with five earned runs and three strikeouts before leaving the game with an injury. The Padres bullpen wasn’t able to stop the bleeding, giving up three more runs as the Rockies pulled away.
The game was tight in the first four innings. Colorado pulled out to a 3-0 lead in the first before the Padres answered to tie the game in the third. Wil Myers hit a two-run homer in the second.
The Rockies retook the lead in the third, but Myers hit a second home run to tie at 4-4. Dom Nuñez’ homer in the fourth broke the deadlock for good. Story’s blast put the game out of reach.
Story went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. He’s now batting .256/333/.464 on the season with 16 total home runs.
