Klay Thompson is back in the gym and draining 3s
By John Buhler
Klay Thompson is back in the gym and making 3-pointers after two injury-riddled seasons.
While it has been a frustrating last two years for the Golden State Warriors, nobody feels more bad about it than their injured star shooting guard Klay Thompson.
The future basketball hall of famer has not played since tearing his ACL in the 2019 NBA Finals vs. the Toronto Raptors. He missed all of the 2019-20 campaign with that injured. To add insult to injury, he missed all of last year after rupturing his Achilles tendon. Now two years removed from playing in a game that counts, here is Thompson getting up shots in a gym like the good, old days.
It may only be in practice, but Thompson looks to be good as new draining 3-pointers in a gym.

For Golden State to get back to playing championship-caliber basketball, Thompson has to be healthy. Not only does he provide otherworldly jumpshooting out on the perimeter, but he is a defensive stalwart who makes up for backcourt teammate Steph Curry’s deficiencies on that end of the floor. While he has never been Golden State’s best player, he is among their most important.
At this point of his career, we probably cannot expect Thompson to be an All-Star player anymore. Once you get labeled as injury-prone, that never leaves you. However, he knows what it takes to win at the highest of levels. With great basketball savvy and a willingness to compete, look for Thompson to be a boost to help the Warriors get back into the title conversation out West soon.
Expect for Golden State fans to erupt when Thompson drains his first 3-pointer in a home game.
