Reds have little use for a hitting pitcher if the DH comes to the NL

Even without the DH, Lorenzen’s injury issues aren’t enough to overwhelm his potential as a two-way player. The Reds have enough pitching, and unless they can sign him to a team-friendly deal, expect Cincinnati to move on from Lorenzen this offseason.

Lorenzen faced major shoulder concerns early in the season, hence why he was placed on the 60-day injured list. He’s found his place at the back of the Reds bullpen down the stretch run, and perhaps he’ll find a home there long-term. But for now, it’s tough to see Lorenzen sticking around for a starter’s price tag.
