With Manchester United ready to try and land a world-class striker next summer, it looks like the club is in pole position to land Erling Haaland.

While it’s been confirmed that Erling Haaland won’t be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer, it’s expected that the Borussia Dortmund striker won’t be playing in the Bundesliga come next year. Countless teams are interested in his services, of course including English Premier League clubs.

Manchester United has Haaland high on his list, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ready to try and bring in someone to replace Edinson Cavani. Per the Manchester Evening News, Haaland not only is a top target, but United is now the favorite to get a deal done with him.

Erling Haaland could end up suiting up for Manchester United next year

This move would fire up everyone outside of Old Trafford. Haaland is one of the best young forwards in the game. For Manchester United, Cavani is indeed in the last year of his contract and the expectation is that he’ll return to play in South America next season closer to home.

Once the Uruguayan makes his exit, Solskjaer will need to bring in a quality striker to replace him. Haaland would be a step up. At just 21 years old, Haaland hasn’t even hit the prime of his career yet, but he’s among the top talents in Europe.

With Manchester United eyeing a league title in the coming years, adding Haaland to the attack would skyrocket their chances. He won’t be easy to sign, however, as teams like Real Madrid, Liverpool and several others want him too.

For now, United is apparently leading the race to get Haaland to the Theatre of Dreams down the road. It’d be a move that would rock the Premier League.
