Marquez Callaway, WR, New Orleans Saints

(Consensus ADP: #183 in PPR)

Get this man on your team any way you can. If you’ve been watching the preseason, you know what I mean. Through two preseason games, Callaway has been showing out.

Through two games (with very limited playing time), he’s caught 8-of-9 targets for 165 yards and two touchdowns. His most impressive outing came in Monday night’s win versus Jacksonville, where he hung a 5-104-2 line on the Jags’ first team defense.

Callaway, as it stands now, is in line to start the season as New Orleans’ WR1 until their incumbent, Michael Thomas, returns. Though even when he does, Callaway’s impressive camp, combined with his dominant preseason and obvious rapport with likely starting QB Jameis Winston has earned him a starting spot in the Saints’ high-flying offense.

Tre’Quan Smith has had several opportunities to run as the WR1 for New Orleans during Thomas’s injury-plagued 2020 season but failed to finish anything more than a low-end WR2. In fact, he dealt with injuries himself.

Jameis Winston produced two top-15 receivers in Tampa Bay in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, and has a good chance to do the same in New Orleans.

The 23-year-old, 6-foot-2, 204-pound undrafted receiver out of Tennessee is essentially free in drafts right now, and is oozing with league-winning upside. Grab him before that price skyrockets.
