Ja Morant is not here for any of the trade rumors involving his Memphis Grizzlies teammates, Dillon Brooks or Kyle Anderson

It’s that time of year where we’re seeing some trade rumors fly across the NBA. For the Memphis Grizzlies, the latest reports have suggested that they could end up sending either Dillion Brooks or Kyle Anderson to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

If you ask superstar Ja Morant, though, there’s no chance either player leaves Memphis before the 2021-22 season gets underway. He took to Twitter to let all of his followers know that the rumors need to stop immediately. Sorry Cleveland fans, if you ask Morant, there’s nothing to see here.

Ja Morant took to Twitter to shut down trade rumors for the Grizzlies

The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Morant is coming off a strong season. In 2020-21, Morant averaged 19.1 points, 7.4 assists and 4.0 rebounds per contest. Now that he’s getting ready for his third season in the pros, Morant knows there will be even more pressure on him to keep putting up strong performances.

With that said, Morant is also quite close with his teammates and wants nothing to do with any of these rumors going around. There’s been no indication that Memphis is shopping around Brooks or Anderson.

While the Cavaliers may want to make something happen and acquire one of the two, Morant might be ready to unpack their suitcases if a trade somehow does end up happening. At this point, though, don’t expect something to get finalized before the regular season gets underway.

For Memphis, the team went 38-34 last season. Come next year, they’ll hope to make a bit of a jump and push for a middle seed for the postseason. With Morant leading the charge, don’t rule that out.
