Naomi Osaka let it all out on the table about her personal battle with mental health on twitter, seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

Mental health has been at the top of the list for everyone lately. The pandemic, discussions on social justice and more have taken a toll on nearly everyone, even the elite athletes that we see on TV.

Naomi Osaka was one of the first to take a step back after growing concerns for her mental health. She took a step away from the French Open, saying that the pressures of pre-event media have taken a toll on her. It was a strong position to take, since discussions of mental health were just scraping the surface of the athletic circuit.

She eventually became a change agent and catalyst for women’s mental health in athletics having many more follow in her steps. Finally things are starting to look up for the young tennis star.

Naomi Osaka takes to twitter announcing that she’s challenging her self to find good in the little things

Osaka took to twitter this afternoon to let it all out… a vent session if you will. Usually when we vent, we let it all out and that’s exactly what she did.

She mentioned her struggles to get a grasp on her mental health before announcing that the best way to do it is celebrate the wins more. “I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m gonna celebrate myself and my accomplishment more,” said Osaka “I think we all should.”

But not just a medal or grand slam, the little things. Waking up, breaking a habit, or making a new one. Whatever it looks like for you, go after it and be unapologetic in chasing your small victories.
