Brady’s arrival in Tampa Bay was strongly aided by the high level of receivers he got to work with last season. The Buccaneers’ starting wide receiver duo of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin gives opposing cornerbacks fits. Add in the presence of O.J. Howard and Rob Gronkowski and it’s a nightmare for the entire secondary.

The Cowboys need for their No. 1 cornerback to hold up in single coverage if they’re going to be able to cope with the sheer depth of Tampa’s receiving corps. Diggs is the best Dallas has to offer on the outside. He’ll likely see snaps against both Evans and Godwin in single coverage depending on the way Tampa lines up.

Diggs can’t just be good if the Cowboys want to win this game. Instead, he needs to come pretty close to shutting down one of the best receivers in the NFL on every snap. That challenge could easily overwhelm the young cornerback which is a big reason why Dallas enters this game as an underdog.

The Cowboys can’t leave Diggs out on an island all game long, but his single coverage snaps will be huge for his team. Coming away with a turnover could do wonders for Dallas’ chances of emerging victorious.
