Cam Sutton

The Steelers put a ton of faith in Sutton’s ability this offseason. They let go of Steven Nelson and let Mike Hilton walk because they truly think this guy can be as good as each of them.

He played well in relief of Hilton last season after the now-Cincinnati Bengals nickel corner went down with an injury. It’s now just a question of can he take that next step of being a full-time starter on the Steelers’ defense?

This isn’t going to be an easy task to start the season. Whether he is lined up outside or playing the nickel spot, the Bills have playmakers everywhere, and a quarterback who is not afraid to let the ball fly and put his trust in those playmakers to come down with the ball.

If Buffalo’s receivers continue to get open without too much pushback, it’ll be a long day- Sutton has to step up.

Whether it’s Emmanuel Sanders, Cole Beasley, or Stefon Diggs, Sutton will have his work cut out for him no matter who is standing across from him at the line of scrimmage. The Steelers need him, and the rest of the secondary, to deliver if they want to leave with a win.
