2. Leonard Fournette

Fournette is a guy who is still available on a fair amount of free agent lists at the moment. He didn’t put up eye-popping stats in his team’s opener, but the amount of touches he got bodes well for his potential success on the season.

The physical running back ran the ball nine times but also added five catches against the Dallas defense. That’s a clear sign of trust from head coach Bruce Arians. He only managed to rack up 32 yards rushing in this game, but it’s easy to see him getting more carries with increased effectiveness in future games.

No fantasy owner should count on Fournette to establish himself as an RB1, but he could be one of the more consistent RB2 options that can be had at this point in the season. Don’t rule out the idea that he could boost his individual point total by scoring plenty of touchdowns in goal line situations as well.

There’s a chance that Ronald Jones cuts into Fournette’s workload later this season, but going with Fournette at RB2 or even as a Flex over the next few weeks should be a prudent play. Snap him up on the waiver wire now if he’s still dangling on the open market.
