Tito Ortiz failed to make the 195-pound weight limit ahead of his scheduled boxing match against Anderson Silva.
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz missed weight ahead of his boxing match with former UFC colleague Anderson Silva, weighing in at 200 pounds for the 195-pound catchweight bout.
Ortiz will make his boxing debut against Silva in the co-main event of the Evander Holyfield-Vitor Belfort boxing event this weekend. This will be his first combat sports event of any kind since Combate Americas 51.
During fight week, Ortiz has made his opinions over the weight cut to 195 pounds clear. Ortiz and Silva both formerly competed at 205 pounds during their UFC careers, but the bout was ultimately signed off at a lower catchweight.
Ortiz went as far as saying he would gladly weigh in over the 195-pound limit on purpose to not completely decimate his body ahead of the fight. After a brutal weight cut, this appears to be the case.
To the surprise of no one, social media had a field day with Ortiz’s failure on the scales. While some have previously expressed sympathy for Ortiz not being able to compete at a more natural weight, most roasted the former UFC champion.
Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter to Ortiz missing weight ahead of the Silva boxing match.

Silva opted to keep the fight intact after Ortiz missed weight, as both will enter the ring with plenty to prove. The winner of the fight will cement themselves as a true player in boxing during this latter stage of their career.
