Florida State head coach Mike Norvell tried to explain how his team allowed a Hail Mary to lose to Jacksonville State and it did not go well for him.

Mike Norvell hasn’t exactly bathed himself in glory since taking over the Florida State Seminoles, but a walk-off Hail Mary conceded to Jacksonville State to give the program their first non-FBS loss since 1959 is certainly a new low for the head coach.

And naturally, people wanted answers for how he let that happen after the game.

Norvell tried to provide those answers but, instead, came out looking like someone completely in over their head.

Mike Norvell has no excuses after FSU loses on Hail Mary to Jacksonville State

This wasn’t Alabama and there wasn’t a minute left. Jacksonville State was 59 yards away from the end zone with six seconds left. Play prevent and knock the ball to the ground and win the game. This isn’t rocket science.

I’m starting to think Mike Norvell might not be the man to turn Florida State around after all. The evidence, these remarks included, is starting to add up to that.
