The Cleveland Browns almost extended their first half lead over the Kansas City Chiefs with this crazy play on Sunday.

The Cleveland Browns showed up for the challenge of taking on the defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The Browns offense picked apart the Chiefs defense, giving them a 22-10 lead heading into halftime. But, the lead could have been much larger.

Facing a fourth-and-31 with seconds remaining on the game clock, quarterback Baker Mayfield threw a pass to wide receiver Jarvis Landry and chaos ensued. Cleveland looked very close to scoring on this play, but running back Kareem Hunt was stopped before reaching the goal line.

So close, but not close enough for the Browns.

Cleveland knew they had to be aggressive against the Chiefs and their explosive offense. They were just that, as they were three-for-three on fourth downs in the first half. Running back Nick Chubb was responsible for two of Cleveland’s three touchdowns in the first half.

Teams facing the Chiefs this season may have to study the work Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski utilized, because it worked in the first half. The second half? Not so much.
