The Green Bay Packers were favored heading into Week 1, but laid a giant egg against the New Orleans Saints and Jameis Winston.

Give Winston and the Saints some credit, as they were prepared for everything the Packers threw at them. That includes every throw Rodgers would make, evidently.

After an offseason filled with drama, Rodgers played so poorly he was eventually replaced by Jordan Love in a blowout 38-3 defeat. No, Love isn’t replacing Rodgers, but it says wonders that the veteran quarterback had to be pulled in a blowout defeat after causing a ton of issues this spring and summer.

The Packers expect better. Their fans expect better.

Rodgers’ disregard for the Green Bay front office was all fine and dandy when he was coming off an MVP campaign. Now, it’s aggravating and sad.

NFL fans trolled Aaron Rodgers and the Packers after loss

The Saints could be a very capable team with Winston at the helm, don’t get me wrong. But there’s a reason the Packers were favored.

Twitter came after the Packers after their brutal loss against New Orleans and Sean Payton.

There were many more where that came from.

The Packers deserve the slander they’re receiving, but it’s also far too early to count them out.
