1. Give Mitchell Schwartz a chance

The Chiefs elected to move on from Schwartz after he underwent back surgery in February. It’s unclear whether or not he can play right away, but it’s reasonable to think he will be ready to take the field sometime in the reasonably near future.

That’s why the Steelers should roll the dice on the former All-Pro. Joe Haeg is set to be their starter at right tackle, but Schwartz can push him for a starting job if he finds a way to recover his pre-injury form.

Protecting Ben Roethlisberger is a necessity for Pittsburgh if they want to have any chance of making a postseason run in 2021. Schwartz can provide the Steelers big-time insurance along the offensive line.

Some Pittsburgh fans might wonder why Russell Okung doesn’t rank higher than Schwartz on this list. The reality is that Okung is only going to sign with a team that’s willing to pay him big money. Schwartz’s injury makes him the cheaper, and more attainable option. His ability to protect Big Ben may land him in the Steel City.
