5 bold predictions for Browns against Texans
By John Buhler
4. Jadeveon Clowney will record his first sack in a Cleveland Browns uniform
While he is nowhere near the sack artist of his new teammate Myles Garrett, Jadeveon Clowney will get his first sack in well over a year when he takes on the team who drafted him No. 1 overall out of South Carolina back in 2014. Though he is best know for being a run defender in the NFL, there will be a play or two where Clowney can pin his ears back and rush the passer ferociously.
Once Clowney strikes Tyrod Taylor into the turf, a thunderous bellow will echo out of FirstEnergy Stadium, much like it did when Clowney hit that poor Michigan Wolverine in the Outback Bowl many moons ago. While he will not get to enjoy a Bloomin’ Onion afterwards, what will surely be coming is the sweet taste of victory. It is so hard to keep things professional when it is personal.
The game might already be way out of hand by that point. Half the crowd might be too inebriated to drive at that point. Regardless, when Clowney goes full-blown Sakerlina on the Texans quarterback, you best be ready. It will be the greatest highlight of highlights we will have seen all Sunday afternoon. Okay, maybe not, but Clowney gets to add a sack to the stat ledger in Week 2.
If there was ever a game for Clowney to go get his first Browns sack, this would be that game.
