FanDuel NFL 2021: Best lineup for Week 2
Flex: RB Kenneth Gainwell, Philadelphia Eagles vs. San Francisco 49ers ($5,000)
Gainwell was clearly Philadelphia’s No. 2 back in Week 1, with nine carries for 37 yards and a touchdown as well as two catches for six yards. An illegible man downfield penalty took away a second touchdown. Meanwhile, Boston Scott did not see the field for an offensive snap behind Miles Sanders.
In Week 1, the 49ers allowed both D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams to top 100 total yards with a touchdown. The passing game usage for each (11 targets for Swift, nine for Williams) was somewhat driven by the Lions being in comeback mode. But as Gainwell possibly starts to encroach on Sanders’ touches, there should be plenty of room for him to produce.
At $5,000, Gainwell qualifies as a punt play on FanDuel this week. But he also feels like a shoo-in to outperform that salary.
Team D/ST: Arizona Cardinals, vs. Minnesota Vikings ($4,400)
The Cardinals held the Tennessee Titans to 13 points in Week 1, with six sacks and three takeaways. Five of those sacks came from Chandler Jones, inspiring a Twitter apology from Titans’ left tackle Taylor Lewan.
The Vikings offensive line committed a chunk of penalties against the Bengals in Week 1, and Kirk Cousins was pressured on nearly 31 percent of his dropbacks (three sacks allowed). Cousins’ general lack of pocket awareness aside, Cincinnati doesn’t have anyone who can finish around the quarterback like Jones can.
Arizona’s defense may yield some points when it’s all said and done on Sunday. But sacks and opportunities for takeways are lined up to come in bunches, with homefield to only help the cause.
