4. New Orlean Pelicans

Much like Detroit, the New Orlean Pelicans have young talent that could benefit from more veteran presence.

Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram are the budding stars in New Orleans but they are surrounded by youth in their backcourt with Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Kira Lewis Jr. and newly signed Devonte Graham primed to be the primary point guard.

The Pels like Alexander-Walker and Lewis enough to let Lonzo Ball walk this offseason — they also traded guard Eric Bledsoe and center Steven Adams for the veteran center Jonas Valanciunas. Graham got out of a crowded backcourt in Charlotte to join another one in New Orleans — that with Wall there would get more crowded.

But just as Graham provides the floor-spacing that the other Pels guards don’t, so would Wall contribute the experience, toughness and playmaking lacking in their backcourt. This would give New Orleans creativity in their various lineups during the season, knowing that each of their lead guards contributes in different ways.
