Fantasy Football 2021, Week 2 rankings: Who to start and sit
Starts
Ja’Marr Chase, CIN, @ CHI
Well, all the concerns of Chase being a bust after a bad training camp and preseason could go away now. In his first game as a pro, the first-round pick led the Bengals in targets, catches, and yards. His highlight was the 50-yard touchdown that got the Bengals off to a hot start. We believe that Chase has instantly become the top choice in the offense, making him a great flex with a promise to become more throughout the season.
Mike Williams, LAC, vs. DAL
The breakout may finally be upon us in Los Angeles. Williams had one of the best games of his career, bringing in eight catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. In a matchup with Dallas, expect there to be a lot of offense with Williams being a major part of the likely shootout.
Nelson Agholor, NE, @ NYJ
Jakobi Meyers is going to be the top option in New England, but that doesn’t mean Agholor won’t be a good option this year with Mac Jones at the helm. Agholor had a great debut with the Patriots and seeing that the Jets are susceptible to big plays, Agholor fits the bill for a great flex this week.
Sits
Brandon Aiyuk, SF, @ PHI
Kyle Shanahan has revealed that Aiyuk was not healthy enough to be a starter in Week 1. That being said, having zero catches was not a good sign that he is ready to go or will be anytime soon. He is a must-bench until his usage in the game plan shows in a game.
Brandin Cooks, HOU, @ CLE
Cooks doesn’t need a star quarterback to show he is still very good at football. That proved to be the case in Week 1. Fantasy owners who more than likely had him on the bench could be considering playing him at flex this weekend but for now, it’s safer to leave him out until we say how the Texans play against a better defense.
Michael Pittman Jr., IND, vs. LAR
Unfortunately, it does not look as though Pittman will be blowing up to start off the season as one of its top sleepers. After all, Zach Pascal brought in two touchdowns in Week 1. Jalen Ramsey could be watching Pittman making it far less intriguing that this is the week he figures it out.
