2. The Patriots defense will hold the Jets in check

The New York Jets are still trying to figure out their identity. Yes, Zach Wilson has big-play ability, but he looked like a rookie for a good portion of their Week 1 game in Carolina (more on that later).

The Jets failed to establish any sort of ground game against the Panthers, which led to all the pressure being put on the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Wilson was sacked six times on Sunday, which isn’t a great look for an offensive line that fans were excited about going into the season after adding Morgan Moses and drafting Alijah Vera-Tucker.

We know the Patriots have guys that can get to the quarterback. They added Matt Judon from Baltimore in the offseason to give them even more help in their front seven.

With Mekhi Becton on the shelf for at least a month with a dislocated kneecap, the Patriots will be even more inclined to test the strength of the Jets offensive line.

If they continue to get home, it’ll be a long day for Wilson and the Jets offense, and nearly impossible to get into any sort of rhythm on the offensive side of the ball.
