1. Taysom Hill does not attempt a pass

Following the retirement of Drew Brees, the Saints had two quality options at quarterback to step up as the starter, Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill. Winston ultimately won the starting quarterback job. In Week 1, he played at a high level against a Super Bowl contender and proved that he deserved to be the franchise quarterback moving forward.

Even when he is the backup quarterback, Sean Payton will deploy Hill throughout the game. He attempted at least one pass in nine games last season. Hill had only one pass attempt against the Packers. It was a completion for three yards.

After Winston’s strong performance, Hill may not be needed, as much. Winston is without a doubt the strongest passer on the team. Hill’s advantage over Winston is his mobility and rushing ability.

Nevertheless, I would not be surprised, if Winston is the only quarterback throwing the football for the Saints in Week 2.
