2. Dak is back

The Cowboys’ 2020 campaign effectively ended when they lost Prescott for the season. Any doubts about his ability to return to top form after his lengthy injury layoff were emphatically put to rest with his performance against Tampa Bay in the opener.

Dallas doesn’t want to force him to make 58 throws again this week, but his final total may not be too far off last week’s mark. The Cowboys need big plays to keep up with the Chargers this week and Prescott’s pinpoint passing ability is their best route to explosive plays.

One interesting thing to watch with Prescott in this game is how his depth of target total shakes out. It’s easy to envision a scenario where Dallas tries to keep the ball away from the Chargers. That could lead to a lot of short, easy completions for Prescott until Dallas is put under any real pressure.

Herbert is the quarterback generating the most buzz heading into Sunday’s game, Prescott is a star too. His return to the lineup for Dallas gives them a strong chance to earn the win.
