5 reasons the Cowboys will beat Chargers on Sunday
1. The Cowboys receiving corps is too good
Cooper was the star for Dallas’ talented receiving corps last week, but the aforementioned presence of James is going to mute his impact in this game. Fortunately for Dallas, they’ve got plenty of alternative weapons to utilize in their receiving corps.
The most obvious breakout campaign in this game is the team’s No. 2 wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb. The second-year pro made a solid impact against the Buccaneers, but his production was overshadowed by Cooper’s exploits. Lamb will be the bigger star in Week 2.
One underrated pass-catcher heading into this game is tight end Dalton Schultz. He caught six balls in the opener and looks to be developing a nice chemistry with Prescott. Schultz can really help his team by creating some nice gains with seam routes against the Chargers’ defense.
Los Angeles has a very deep and talented secondary that gives them a big advantage over almost every opponent they face. The Cowboys are one of the few teams that can match the Chargers on both fronts with their wide receiving corps. That combination of star power and diversity in their receiving corps will power Dallas to an important win.
