4. Mahomes > Jackson

Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson have faced each other three times. Mahomes has gotten the win every time.

It’s not that Mahomes is straight-up better than Jackson. That’s a debate for a different forum. Both quarterbacks are in the elite class of NFL players and most teams would be happy to have either one.

Mahomes has simply done a much better job of navigating the matchups between them. He has a 116.2 passer rating against Baltimore. That means he has the number of the Ravens defense and Jackson doesn’t seem to have the same advantage over the Chiefs defense. Jackson’s career passer rating against KC is 78.9.

Whether they’ve played in Kansas City or Baltimore, Mahomes has the edge.

This is a new year, so perhaps something will click for Jackson. The NFL is certainly hoping for an epic showdown between the two young stars. What they’re more likely to get is a repeat of every other meeting they’ve had.
