Rough news has come in for the Denver Broncos, as pass-rusher Bradley Chubb injured his ankle and he’s been ruled out for the rest of Week 2.

The unlucky start to the 2021 campaign has continued to get worse for Denver Broncos star pass-rusher Bradley Chubb. Chubb, who missed Week 1 due to an ankle injury, worked his way back in practice this week and took the field on Sunday against the Jaguars.

However, Chubb’s day is already over, as he suffered an ankle injury in the first half and he’s already been ruled out for the rest of the game. This is just brutal news for Chubb and the Broncos defense.

Bradley Chubb re-injured his ankle on Sunday against the Jaguars

For Chubb, he injured the same ankle that kept him out of the season-opener last week. Against Jacksonville, he was clearly still in a bit of pain, as he didn’t quite look himself in this one. Before having to leave the contest, Chubb recorded just one tackle.

With him and Von Miller on the field together, Broncos fans were ready to watch the two studs put countless pressure on No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence. Unfortunately for Chubb, he couldn’t keep himself on the field for the duration of the game.

Looking forward, it’s up in the air what Chubb’s status will be for Week 3. Again, he clearly wasn’t himself on Sunday. Denver may want to let him get back close to 100 percent rather than to try and rush him back into action too soon.

Chubb is a major part of this team’s defense and they’ll need him fully fit late in the season for big showdowns. His health and the severity of his ankle injury of course will be something to monitor next week and for the rest of the fall.
