If the season ended today, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray would be NFL MVP.

While it is still insanely early in the season, the front-runner for NFL MVP has to be Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.

Arizona improved to 2-0 on the year thanks to the Minnesota Vikings’ inability to make chip-shot field goals when the pressure is on. Stop me if you have heard this one before. Even if Minnesota played well enough to win this game, Murray has been every bit the star player Arizona thought he would be when they punted on Josh Rosen after one year to take him No. 1 overall back in 2019.

The Cardinals will have a real shot at making the NFL playoffs if Murray continues to play like this.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has played like an NFL MVP thus far

Murray completed 29-of-36 passes for 400 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the Cardinals’ 34-33 victory over Minnesota. He also carried the ball five times for 31 yards and an additional trip to pay dirt. Thus far, Murray has 689 passing yards for seven touchdowns and three picks on the year, as well as 10 carries for 51 yards and two more rushing touchdowns to boot.

Overall, Arizona has plenty of talent around Murray to potentially make a deep playoff run. However, they are going nowhere if Murray cannot keep playing like the signal-caller that won the Heisman Trophy at Oklahoma. With this being a critical year for Kliff Kingsbury in the Valley of the Sun, his star quarterback is doing everything in his power to ensure they work together in 2022.

Even with 15 games left, Murray is showing he is the star quarterback worth building around.
