Pittsburgh Steelers pass-rusher T.J. Watt has been ruled out vs. the Las Vegas Raiders.

In the first half of the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ home opener vs. the Las Vegas Raiders, star pass-rusher T.J. Watt suffered a groin injury.

Pittsburgh has its work cut out for it with a feisty Silver and Black team coming to town. Given the Steelers’ offensive inconsistencies, they are likely to be a defensive-minded team once again this season. If the Steelers are going to be without its superstar front-seven player, that is going to be a massive issue for them going forward. Here is the latest injury update on Watt from Week 2.

Steelers director of communications Burt Lauten has conveyed Watt has officially been ruled out.

T.J. Watt injury update: Pittsburgh star ruled out with a groin injury

While it is only Week 2 of the 2021 NFL season, there does not look to be a bad team in the AFC North. The Cincinnati Bengals may be much improved and the Steelers’ two other rivals were playoff teams a season ago. Pittsburgh should amass a winning record this season, because that is what Mike Tomlin teams do. However, any lengthy absence out of Watt would be catastrophic.

Pittsburgh fans will monitor Watt’s status heading into Week 3 and beyond after this injury.
