Ball don’t lie: 3 worst calls from Week 2 in the NFL
By Mark Powell
Micah Parsons, Russell Wilson and more: Best of the worst
I’ll call this an extended honorable mention, because the taunting extravaganza itself counts as at least three bad calls. For heaven’s sake, there was a lowlight reel.
We’ll start in Los Angeles, as officials gave Parsons another sack on his young career, but likely robbed the Los Angeles Chargers of a realistic chance at more points in what eventually became a Cowboys three-point win.

Forward progress is always a judgement call, and the refs blew this play dead just as Justin Herbert was getting rid of the ball for what would become an incomplete pass. Parsons was ‘sacked’ for a loss of, well, a lot. The Chargers would kick a field goal.
Next: Russell Wilson got lucky the Seahawks didn’t lose in overtime due to his mistakes. Instead, they lost fair and square, as the Titans drove down the field and kicked a game-winning field goal. As the title suggests, ball don’t lie.
Once again, forward progress strikes. Wilson also got rid of that ball, but he was in the end zone and not particularly outside of the pocket. So, wouldn’t that be intentional grounding?
The officials didn’t see it that way. As always, we have no idea what to think.
