It’s been two weeks into the regular season, and Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has already taken some brutal hits and the offensive line is struggling. The Steelers need to get their game going offensively and they could really use Matt Feiler.

Feiler went undrafted in the 2014 NFL draft and spent a year with the Houston Texans before being claimed off of waivers by Pittsburgh and signed to the practice squad in 2015. It wasn’t until Dec. 31, 2017 that Feiler made his first career start against the Cleveland Browns.

Feiler primarily started at right guard during the 2018 and 2019 seasons and moved to left guard in 2020. During the ’21 offseason, he signed a three-year, $21 million deal with the Los Angeles Chargers.

In Sunday’s loss to the Raiders, the Steelers were down two scores with seven minutes remaining in the game and coach Mike Tomlin decided to punt at 4th & 1. It’s clear that the offensive line is shaky and if they can’t be trusted to make big plays and protect their veteran quarterback, it’s going to be an even longer season than expected.

Hey, Matt, Pittsburgh misses you.
