2. Damion Lee, SG

Damion Lee is entering the final year of his three-year contract with the Warriors. The structure of his deal for this season is non-guaranteed and the likelihood of him being on a different team before the season’s end is high.

Lee, who was on a two-way contract with Golden State and the Santa Cruz Warriors, stepped up and performed well after both Curry and Thompson were injured during the 2019-20 season. His journey at the professional level exemplifies hard work paying off, but as Golden State is looking to provide immediate assistance to its Big 3, Lee’s time in the Bay Area may be coming to a close.

After starting only one game last year, Lee averaged 6.5 points per game, 3.2 rebounds and shot 39.7 percent from being the arc. With both Curry and Thompson back in the lineup this season, Lee’s production for the Warriors will likely continue to fall as his playing time drops.

Lee’s contribution to Golden State shouldn’t go underappreciated, though, and he’s been successful at making a name for himself after going undrafted in 2016. While it may be a tad bittersweet, this will be a mutually beneficial goodbye for both sides. Either way, he’ll become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
