4. Travis Kelce is game MVP

If the Chiefs had won Super Bowl LV, Travis Kelce would have had a strong case for Super Bowl MVP: his 10 catches for 133 yards accounted for nearly half of all of Mahomes’ yards in the game.

It’s unsurprising that Kelce was the one that championed the team through the game, as he’s long been an integral piece to this Chiefs offense. The Chiefs have speedy receivers to sprint downfield for swift touchdowns, but it’s tight end Kelce who moves the ball down the field down after down.

With Gronkowski at the end of his Hall of Fame career, Kelce has taken the mantle as the best tight end in football — and if the Chiefs win on Sunday, it will be decided by his performance.

While Hill was held to 14 last week, Kelce got 109 yards on seven receptions and a touchdown. With three touchdowns on the season and a catch rate no lower than 85 percent, Kelce proves once more in 2021 that he is the Chiefs player that makes this offense hum — besides Patrick Mahomes, of course.

Mahomes’ 300-yard games have become commonplace by now, but Kelce’s place in making those wins happen deserves as much attention as possible. If the Chiefs get another 300 on Sunday, expect Kelce to get at least a third of the volume, especially on critical third downs.
