5 bold predictions for Eagles against Cowboys
4. Eagles vs Cowboys predictions: Micah Parsons has his first career multi-sack game
The first-round defender had one of the best developments from Week 1 to Week 2. In Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, everyone was talking about how Tom Brady picked on the young linebacker all night. Brady was able to repeatedly complete passes over the middle of the field where Parsons was in coverage.
In Week 2, after Cowboys defensive end broke his foot, Dallas decided to line the rookie Parsons up as an edge rusher against the Los Angeles Chargers. Parsons had demonstrated this versatility in college, playing all over the field at Penn State, so the team knew he had a comfort level. He quickly demonstrated that he was more than comfortable, and had one of the noteworthy performances of the game. Parsons finished the game with one sack, four quarterback hits and eight pressures.
With Randy Gregory returning from the COVID-19 list for the Cowboys, it’s unclear how Dallas will use the versatile Parsons. He nor the team has stated where he will take the bulk of his snaps. But since he now has experience playing inside linebacker and as an edge rusher in the pros, expect for the Cowboys to have fun moving him around throughout the game.
It is likely he sees a reasonable amount of snaps at both positions. Even when he is lined up as an off ball linebacker, Dallas will involve him in blitz packages. This will give him numerous opportunities to take Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts to the ground.
