5. Jonathan Taylor finally breaks out

Why is it bold to say one of the highest-drafted running backs is finally going to live up to his hype? It mostly has to do with Carson Wentz and his injury. Wentz found a way to injure both of his ankles last week, and it’s probably going to be Jacob Eason under center. The most logical thing to happen next is for the Tennessee Titans to put eight guys in the box and force Eason to beat them. However, Frank Reich will get creative to get his best asset contributing to the offense.

Taylor has been underwhelming on the score sheet, but in Week 1 there was a template to make him extremely effective. He might have only rushed for 56 yards, but he was targeted seven times by Wentz and caught six balls for 60 yards. That is how the Colts can get the best out of Taylor, and we should trust a good offensive mind in Reich to figure it out.

The Colts are a mess. That much is obvious, but Taylor is still a really good option out of the backfield. Nyheim Hines is another interesting option, but don’t go too far into the Colts this week with this matchup.

Things will be even better if Wentz miraculously recovers in time for the game, but that seems unlikely with his history. Taylor won’t do a ton on the ground, but he could get a huge game through the air. The Colts need to get creative, and that’s how they can get Taylor going.
