NFL Week 3 schedule: 5 teams that can’t afford to lose
By Josie Rohach
1. Philadelphia Eagles
Monday night is going to be a dogfight. The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are both 1-1 heading into a primetime divisional matchup with the top spot in the NFC East on the line. The stakes are high, the lights will be bright, and only one team will walk out with a winning record.
That team needs to be the Eagles. They’re underdogs heading into Dallas and trying to recover from a downward trend after a lifeless loss to San Francisco. Philadelphia just has more to lose, as a sound loss this week could carve out a difficult trajectory for the remainder of the season.
All eyes will be on quarterbacks Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts throughout the night. Hurts is in a better spot than Dallas when it comes to support from his top-5 defense, but he still has no room for error. He scored Philadelphia’s only touchdown last week, but it didn’t come until there were only four minutes left to play. The young quarterback needs to be ready to play with intention from the start this week.
Come Monday, the key to hope for Philly’s season will be in Hurts’ hands. Let’s hope he throws it for a few touchdowns.
