4. Mac Jones throws for 300 yards if Marshon Lattimore is inactive

The Saints looked to be in good shape in terms of their secondary, considering they allowed just 133 passing yards to Green Bay Packers quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers in the season-opener. Star cornerback Marshon Lattimore was rewarded for his performance as he signed a record-breaking five-year contract.

Things then spiraled out of control in Week 2 after Lattimore was listed as inactive due to a  thumb injury. The Saints were then torched by Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold, who completed 26-of-38 pass attempts for 305 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.

There is still uncertainty as to when Lattimore will be able to return to the field for the Saints. If the star cornerback is inactive, this could be a huge day for Patriots rookie Mac Jones. While his performance against the Jets last week was, well, boring, we can not gloss over the fact that he threw for 281 yards against the Dolphins.

Again, if Lattimore is inactive, Jones will throw for over 300 yards for the first time of his career. If Lattimore is active for Week 3, New Orleans’ odds of winning will drastically increase.
